Are Your Thoughts Yours?

Sorry but I couldn't help it. I just realized how many idiots I have as followers. Erykah Badu gives me chills with the things she says and does. What other artist do you know that could compare to her? When she talks she so sincere, genuine and knowledgeable. I watched my timeline in amazement as I saw some of the dumbest things being tweeted. So many of my peers are sucked up into the bullshxt of society. They care about all the things that don't matter and ignore the things that do.
Get yourself together. Really. Sit for a minute. The hours in the days wisk by and you're doing the same thing you were doing yesterday. Where's your progress? Are you happy? Are you truthful? To yourself and others?  Take time to interview yourself. See how many thoughts are actually yours compared to the ones that have been created by #groupthink. Find you, embrace it, and don't hide. Life is to short to live someone else's.

"Envy is Ignorance" and most importantly "Imitation is Suicide" ... You kill yourself trying to be somebody else.

That's enough for now. Just had to vent real quick ...

No...but Serena Williams does? Wait... So you mean to tell me tennis, your clothing line, and 30 million dollars isn't enough? Ha... According to YBF.com, Serena enrolled in the Palm Beach Nail School in Florida. She wrote in her blog about how excited she was the night before class. She got a hello kitty backpack and containers to keep all her tools, lls.
But why? Here's her explanation:

“No one likes getting their nails done more than I do. As a matter of fact I go every four days to get a manicure and every seven days for a pedicure. So, I had a brilliant idea to get certified to be a nail tech."

So...because you like getting them done... you decided to do them?? Um... I guess. Like Kat Wililams said, "By all means make that paypa' boo-boo!"

Check Serena owt on her first day of class (right). You're better than me, tho. I wouldn't DARE touch those dogs! Oh and honey, you might want to just think about cosmetology in general. You're makeup skills could use some tweekin' too.

She has plans of opening her own polish line. But really, besides the polish line, what's the point? You and I both know, nobody with $30 million is going around doing people's feet!! #wheretheydothatat?! And I feel like you don't need a nail tech license to make nail polish.

Apparently you can't type too fast on FB or you'll be accused of harassment and "annoying and abusive" behavior. I was loosing my mind because a friend of mine said she has [ n e v e r ] listened to Erykah Badu! Of course my fingers were typing a thousand words a minute and .. POP! I get this message.

I was thinking... actually I've been thinking ... being born and raised in SE, DC I tend to get frustrated by Wale. Yeah sure he's from the [ d e e : e m :  v e e ] but freal ... stop reppin' DC like its really your hood. Im thinking more Largo/ Landover area ... You rep us so hard, but what do you give back? Don't worry ... I'll wait. Making stops at the city's clubs does not count. Honestly, if you knew better you'd do better.

At 3am I was up downloading the greatness from iTunes. It's [ a m a z i n g ].  Badu, as we all know, is extraordinary.  I have a feeling there's gonna be a lot of haters.... People don't realize good music anymore. Rockin' out to "alll da way turnt up" & "o lets dooo it" annnndd crrazzzzy stuff like "Flex" ... THIS IS REAL MUSIC PEOPLE -- wake up .... please.

There have been plenty times when I've gotten a little lonely and could used some company. There have even been times when I need a fly date for a party or event. Majority of the time I'm a people person and I enjoying meeting new and different individuals.

But [ n e v e r ] ... and I mean never have I been in a desperate position where I need to pay for company, friendship, date, or any of the above.

Apparently there's a website where you can RENT A FRIEND. Yes. You're familiar with renting housings, cars and maybe even furniture. But, honey ... really? A friend. That's sad.

But then again... I try to stay open-minded. Whatever floats you're boat.

PG County's 10th Annual Spelling Bee

Check it owt. A package I did on PG County's 10th Annual Spelling Bee.
It was held Friday, March 12 at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center on my campus.
Them kids could spell their tails off! [ S O ] impressive.
I taped all the footage.
I did all the interviews.
I did the editing.
I did the tracking.

Lil Tunechi Update

So my baby dodged 'em for a minute. Didn't go in february cause of the teeth issue and didn't go in 3.2.10 cause of the fire in the basement of the court house. Monday 3.8.10 was the day.

Of course my dude getting special treatment. He's in Rikers, but not really. Because of the protective custody request he's staying in this general population housing on the ground of the Rikers. According to VIBE his housing holds 18 other inmates and his personal cell is 10x6. He's wearing the uniforms, only gets two phone calls a week, and two visits with up to three people at a time.

He's eating tho. Vibe says his first mean was spaghetti basically ( noodles, sausage and marinara sauce).

"Tomorrow’s breakfast will be fresh fruit, Wheatena and coffee or tea. Lunch: Meatloaf and mashed potatoes"

1 of 5 college women will be sexually assaulted...

So as you know, I attend UMCP. Most  students know that on a campus like ours, it's not too smart to take your safety for advantage. Paul Dillon, the campus police spokesperson, floods our emails several times a week notifying us of the robberies, assaults, and sex offenses happening on and around our campus. But apparently... it's not just us.

The U.S. Department of Justice reports that about 1 of 5 college women will be sexually assaulted. The investigative unit of NPR collaborated with the Center for Public Integrity (CPI) to see where school systems and governmental agencies are going wrong in solving these problems.

Laura Dunn (left, picture courtesy of : NPR.org), a student of the University of Wisconsin at the time, said nothing about what happened to her in April 2004. According to the report, after drinking too much at a fraternity party, Laura was taken advantage by two men who she knew and trusted.
